Our oldest expression yet was released on November 16 to coincide with our 13th Anniversary. This is the third installment in our “Distiller’s Reserve” program, and is a 10-year-old edition of its flagship Tenderfoot American Malt Whiskey that was barreled on August 14, 2014.
The mashbill is 77% malt barley, 13% malt rye, and 10% malt wheat. It was aged in a 1st-fill #3 char American oak barrel and bottled at 45%ABV. “This is a fantastic example of the uniquely intense maturation profile of whiskey aged in Colorado at 7000ft. It was aged in used oak and the wood is perfectly balanced with the spirit. The result is beautifully mellow, well integrated whiskey that expresses the baking spice, malt, and chocolate notes that Tenderfoot is known for.

This is the second release in our “Distillers Reserve” Series and the our first for Tenderfoot American Malt Whiskey. Available exclusively at the Tasting Room in Salida!
A combination of two barrels distilled on January 3, 2019. These special barrels we’re part of an experiment with lower barrel entry proofs in 1-st fill (used) American oak barrels. The result is a stunning whiskey of depth and wonderfully integrated flavors.

Alpine Rye Whiskey “Distiller’s Reserve” Batch 1, 7-year
The Distiller’s Reserve label is given to only our most exceptional barrels. In this case, we have two barrels that have earned the label of Distiller’s Reserve. Both feature our standard rye mashbill and aged 6 & 7 years, respectively. These barrels are both incredible on their own but we decided to blend them for a really mind blowing whiskey.
- Very Limited! Only 375 bottles were made and it is currently only available at the tasting room in Salida.
Additionally, this release is special because these are the last two barrels of whiskey we have that were distilled on our antique German pot-still Ashley (which graces each label).
This release of Distiller’s Reserve shows gentler, incredibly integrated rye whiskey that beautifully melds the flavor profile our traditional Alpine Rye of smoky rye spice, cinnamon, caramel, orange peel, coffee, and chocolate – just heightened. Aged in a combination of 6 and 7 year old new #3-char American oak barrels. Distilled and aged in our distillery at over 7000′ in Salida, Colorado from grains sourced in the San Luis Valley and bottled at 101 proof.
